Our Lady Star of the Sea
Novena for Special Needs
Our Lady Star of the Sea, Stella Maris, is the Patroness of those who sail the seas, so too, as St Bonaventure explains,
she “guides to a landfall in heaven, those who navigate the sea of this world in the ship of innocence or penance”
.Ships at sea maybe guided by the North Star.
So it is that Our Blessed Mother, The Virgin Mary, Star of the Sea,
aids not only sailors that sail the seas,
but so too, we who sail the stormy seas of life.
The Medal Prayer:
O
Most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel,Fruitful Vine, Splendour of Heaven,
Blessed Mother of the Son of God,
Immaculate Virgin assist me in this my necessity.
O
Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein that you are my Mother.O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth,
I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart ,
to succour me in this necessity
There are none that can withstand your power.
The First Three Beads:
One Our Father, One Hail Mary, and one Glory Be on each of the three beads for the intentions of Bishop Warren Bordreaux, Pope John Paul 11, and
Fr John Finke.On each of the 12 beads, which represents the 12 Stars of Our Lady’s Crown, pray:
One Hail Mary on each bead and then the following invocations after each bead.
Our Lady, Star of the Sea Help and Protect us!
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands.
The rosary is made :
12 beads in a circle. Joined with a join of Mary surrounded by stars, Followed by 3 beads that are added to a medal of Mary Star of the Sea ( you can use the medal of Our Lady of Mt Carmel with the Sacred Heart on the other side).
